Luna paint and eye test by batosan Luna paint and eye test by batosan
Paint in work. Mane is done in a hand mixed pearl sky blue.
Body color is Royal Navy blue.
Shoes are Citadel Boltgun metal.
No cutie mark yet.
Since eyes are my bane, I'm testing paper laminate lacquer eyes. This is the test set I was the most happy with, but I want opinions. Too large, does not look good etc. I know they are placed slightly off. these are just a test and will come off for the final set with ease.

I do not own "Luna" as a character
MLP FIM is a HASBRO copy-write.

That is awesome.... I absolutely love the definition of the wing feathers. did you do that with an undercoat of light blue, an ink wash, or just a really tiny brush?

Royal blue mixed with Pearl EX Micro pearl powder hand brushed into the details. I've reworked it now with a second coat, photos will follow later this week.

Wow, that must have taken a while. You gotta let me know how many man hours this project took when you get it done. I spent about 18 on my Celestia repaint, and that was just painting. You sculpted this, and that had to take a long time.

Doesn't need to be! It's guarded by over 100 Gundam's, 2 Motrar heads, over 40 Ultramen, 30 something Godzilla's, and most of an entire chapter of Dark Angels(with vehicles!). And Ponies!

9 3/4 in. tall. 10 in wingspan. You were really close! Good eyes! Thanks for the compliment. It feels good coming from established sculptors!

Thanks and you are welcome. I think I have made Luna more than anyone so I am pretty good at judging her size and proportions. Have you planned your next one?

The PMV "Flutter-Stutter" and the MP3 has me going! Thinking of Fluttershy in mid air, forelegs spread wide, head back, in full joyful song!

Draw them in digital form, print them, cut them out with a razor knife, and fix them to the sculpt with white glue. When I get ready to fix the final set, I lacguer the paper with thin coats and then seal the entire sculpt.
